Taking big bites of addictive Japanese –style sandwiches
[ Café Amazon ] at Shichijo is already crowded with customers on both the first and the second floors as soon as they open in the morning. Among the menu, “Wafu toast (Japanese-style sandwiches)” is the one I choose. Their sandwiches are the king of Japanese-style sandwiches; consisting of dashi maki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet), laver, and dried bonito shavings with browned toasts. It has a rich taste but at the same time it’s light. The mouth fills with the savory taste of ingredients.
I’m addicted to this combination of the ingredients, which is the big surprised that there wasn’t before. I ate up quickly. It’s not common at cafés but Wi-Fi is available here, so it might be a good idea to try these sandwiches before staring your Kyoto trip.
