  • Distribute the wealth provided from Kishu to Kobe. Master of dried food, [ Uokuni Shoten ]

[ Uokuni Shoten ] is the 2nd store of the grocery store specialized in dried food which opened on the shopping street at Misonocho, Wakayama in 1946. Mr. Yoshitaka Misawa, who is the son-in-law of the third-generation owner, opened the store in April, 2015 with the passion of “letting Kobe people acquaint with the value of dried food.”

Mr. Misawa said, “Naturally, all of them are delicious because we get high quality of dried food from all over Japan. We judge the quality according to our experience.” Kiriboshi daikon (dried daikon radish strips) from Awaji and hijiki seaweed from Nagasaki are nutrient-rich ingredients and they are easy to cook since they are already cut. Also, they developed original products using grape sansho (Japanese pepper) from Wakayama. Oatmeal cookies, co-produced with neighborhood patisserie using grape sansho powder ground by their own millstone are one of them. It’s the task for Mr. Misawa to distribute the wealth provided from Kishu to Kobe.

Oatmeal cookie which is a perfect marriage of rich taste butter and tangy sansho like herbs (¥150 / pc).
In addition to the condiments such as “Futami” blended their special sansho with cayenne pepper powder, “shoga (ginger) powder” that you can enjoy the rich taste of ginger are available.
Products made by palm from Kishu are also available. There are about 40 kinds of products such as brooms and scrubbing brushes.
