30 minutes from Osaka City, Excursion in nature of Nara

Let’s discover the northwest of Nara, like Kashiba City, the border between Osaka Prefecture, and Koryo-cho, next to Kashiba City! The access to Kashiba from Osaka is very good; Japan National Route 165 connecting Osaka City and Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, and Japan National Route 168 connecting Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture and Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture run through, and also it takes about 20 minutes by train from Osaka City. Kashiba has some attractions; Taishido (Prince Shotoku Road), the mausolea of Japanese Emperors, shrines and temples, and Donzurubo, which has marvelous scenery of weaving tuff.

Koryo-cho is rich in nature and history. There are Umami Kyuryo (Hill) Park, which is about 56 hectares, Taketori Park, which has the legend of Princess Kaguya, and so on. Also, sock manufacturing has grown up to produce 5 hundred million pairs a year. The sock manufacturing started as a sideline of farmers about 100 years ago. Now, the sock manufacturing here accounts for about 40% in Japan and Koryo-cho is knows as a sock town. Mr. Tanoue of [ DE-NA-LI ], the outdoor clothing brand based in Koryo-cho shows around Kashiba City and Koryo-cho.
